The National Cricket Inclusion Championships is organised by Cricket Australia and Sponsored by the Taverners, comprises three cricket groups:
Blind & Low Vision
Deaf & Hard of Hearing
The annual Championship showcases the skills of 'all abilities' cricketers, giving them a platform to succeed and reflects the growing participation in inclusive cricket programs throughout Australia. All State and Territory Cricket Associations now run their own diversity programs including All Abilities cricket as a brand in market also.
The Taverners have been the major financial contributor and in 2019 sponsored the Carnival with a $100,000 donation. A similar donation will be provided towards the 2021 Championships. To date, the Taverners have contributed $340,000 to the NCIC.
The Taverners sponsorship and partnership with Cricket Australia, has contributed towards the individual cost required to for each participant to be removed – so it's now 'free of charge' to all participants.
“Cricket Australia is proud to partner with Taverners Australia, our official charity partner. Our partnership is built on people-power – with help from countless volunteers, corporate sponsors, dedicated support-professionals and leaders on the ground, to drive inclusive cricket values, programs and outcomes that matter.
Our vision together, has ultimately realised the dreams of so many with the establishment of the National Cricket Inclusion Championships back in 2017. It’s now time to go to the next level. Please join with us – in a national call-out and campaign for donations to the Sporting Chance Fund for direct financial support and future sustainability of the National Cricket Inclusion Championships.
We can all contribute and we will all benefit from the education, participation and commitment in action – harnessing the unique talents of those in our game that we know is a sport for all to enjoy. So with your support, we will continue to make cricket a sport for all Australians”
